There’s nothing quite like the magic of the holiday season. Everything seems just a little more bright and cheery… and there are tons of fun activities and celebrations to enjoy, especially here on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.

Here are some great Crystal Coast holiday events happening soon!

Black Friday Annual Craft Fair and Book Sale

On Black Friday (November 23), the Fair runs from 12pm – 5pm, and on November 24, it runs all day, 9am – 4pm. Tickets are just $1 at the door, which includes a 50-cent coupon good at the Book Sale.

Emerald Isle Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting

On November 24, the parade features tons of local floats and businesses, as well as Santa Claus, and marches down Highway 58. Stay after the parade to enjoy snacks and cider and catch the Tree Lighting at Merchant’s Park.

Morehead City Tree Lighting

On December 1, head down to Jaycee Park at 6pm to watch the City tree light up! Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, or enjoy some hot chocolate from the Salvation Army. Stay awhile and enjoy music and dinner Downtown.

Crystal Coast Christmas Flotilla

Marvel at a parade of boats, yachts, oars, kayaks, and commercial vessels bedecked in holiday lights and decor traveling along the Morehead City and Beaufort waterfronts. The parade will be visible in Morehead City at 5:30pm and in Beaufort at 6:15pm. All boats are judged and prizes are awarded post-parade at the Awards Party at the Harvey W. Smith Watercraft Center.

Head Downtown between 11am and 12pm to admire the festive parade of floats, community groups, bands, and of course, Santa and his sleigh. The parade begins at Arendal and 17th and marches east along Arendell to 4th Street.

Beaufort Art Walk & Candlelight Homes Tour

Stroll the candlelit streets to admire a display of unique local creations… or embark on the Homes Tour. a $16 ticket buys you admission to a rare display of historic homes, inns, bed and breakfasts, churches, and more… all decorated for the holiday season. And you can ride a 1967 English double-decker bus!

Pine Knoll Shores Flotilla

pine knoll shores flotillaThe weekend of holiday fun isn’t over yet! Down in Pine Knoll Shores, the traditional Holiday Flotilla boat parade will be sweeping the shore from Brock Basin to McNeil Park from 5:30 to 7pm… and it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

There’s one more weekend… so head down to Garner Park in Pine Knoll Shores on December 15 for the annual Christmas Parade. It’s an annual tradition that’s brought visitors and residents alike to the streets of Downtown for years. The show’s at 10am this year and features floats from businesses and organizations all across the Crytal Coast.

Countdown Downtown

downtown countdown and crystal coast new years eventsWhere did 2018 go?? Send off the year and kick off another (hopefully) great one with the Downtown Countdown in Downtown Morehead City. The fun starts with a 6pm Kids Crab Pot Drop and concludes with a traditional countdown and Crab Pot Drop at midnight… followed by a beautiful display of fireworks from Sugarloaf Island. There will also be specials and live entertainment at various businesses throughout Downtown.
